IRS 1040-SS Form

The IRS Form 1040-SS is to be used by bona fide residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico) who are not required to file a U.S. income tax return. One purpose of this form is to report the net earnings from self-employment to the United States and, when necessary, pay SE tax on said income. The Social Security Administration (SSA) will use this information to figure the benefits you are entitled to under the social security program. SE tax also applies no matter how old you are.
